Our remit was to introduce some “glamour” to the room to enhance the fine furniture and fixings.

We were asked to design and fit circular enriched panel mouldings and geometrical mouldings to suit the layout of the room, this was a tricky operation due to the irregular shape of the room but the finished article looks authentic and the customers were delighted.

We used some of the original plaster mouldings and enriched plates we have accumulated from decades of ornamental and cornice repairs carried out throughout Scotland. We incorporated the plaster embellishments into new mouldings made specifically for the project, the photos show our rough sketch plan and photos of the work carried out.

We fitted a plaster friese framed with a heavy moulded plaster border to the perimeter to the room, we designed and fitted fluted columns and pilasters to encase the steelwork around the hall.

Our craftsmen fitted beautiful ornate plaster capitols to the new columns and pilasters we produced and fitted.

The large enriched cornice containing a honeysuckle detail is one of our stock mouldings.

Mixing stock plaster cornicing and mouldings with copies from original Victorian and Georgian plaster details that we have garnered over the years can be used to great effect and help with reducing costs where the customer is looking for something unique but doesn’t want to go to the expense of having totally bespoke designed plaster details, we have carried out this type of work to great effect in many commercial and residential properties.
